God accomplishes his saving work through consistent means. In the Old Testament, he used kings like David to care for his wayward people and draw them to himself. Today, he directs our gaze to King Jesus, David’s Greater Son. By helping us to see God’s faithfulness to his own in David’s rise to power, the books of 1 & 2 Samuel equip us to find our hope and rest in the King of God’s choosing today.
