  1. Why do the victories in 2 Samuel 8 come immediately after the promises in 2 Samuel 7? Where do you need the Spirit to renew your confidence in one of God’s promises?

  2. David conquered territory his enemies had occupied for generations and brought it under Yahweh’s authority. What does that tell us about the way Christ is building his kingdom today?

  3. Should we expect to experience victory wherever we go? If so, what does the gospel tell us it will look or feel like?

  4. King David devoted all his wealth to God’s cause. King Jesus devoted his very life to God’s cause. Read 1 Timothy 6:17-19. Compelled by his sacrifice, where is the Lord prompting you to grow in financial generosity, even in seemingly small ways?
