  1. Saul harmed Israel in pursuit of vainglory. Where is it easy for you to pursue a goal at the cost of those you’re called to serve? What would it look like to replace coercive authority with biblical authority?

  2. Saul imposed a man-made law on Israel (no honey), leaving them vulnerable to disobeying God’s law (no blood). Where in your own life has trying to follow a man-made law left you more susceptible to disobeying God’s law? 

  3. What does inquiring of the Lord look like today? What are some of the marks of a biblical decision-making process?
