  1. Can you think of a situation where you did something that was biblically permissible, but it was an expression of trust in something or someone other than the Lord? 

  2. Why does being like the world around us feel attractive? What are some of the things that make the identity Jesus offers us so much better?

  3. Where in your life do you need to stop taking personally what is not personal or remember that a suffering Savior is walking alongside you?

  4. How have you experienced the enslaving power of a master other than King Jesus? Share one thing you’re presently tempted to enthrone instead of him. 

  5. We run to other kings when we lose sight of the abundant life we already have in Jesus. How does God’s response to Israel reveal his goodness?
