  1. Is the judgment of God a topic you would rather avoid? Why or why not? How do you think God wants his judgments to function in our lives as believers?

  2. Can you think of a past situation where you hardened your heart against the Lord? What happened?

  3. Do you think of confessing sin to other people today as a good thing or a shameful thing? Would anything hold you back?

  4. Where do you need to rest in the sovereignty of God instead of ascribing even hard situations to fate?

  5. How are you doing relating to the Lord with trembling awe? For those who have been a Christian a long time, what practical actions are helping you to not take God’s favor for granted?
