Sunday Review: 5/10/26

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Matthew Williams preached the message “Triumph of Grace” from Acts 9:1-19. To listen to this message again, click here. See below for discussion questions on this passage and message.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. How do we know anything about God (2 Corinthians 4:4-6)? Where are you vulnerable to creating a God of your own imagination instead of worshiping the God who is actually there?

  2. John Stott said, “it was not Saul who decided for Christ… rather Christ who decided for him.” How does God's grace (undeserved favor) toward Saul affect the way you think about God’s grace toward you?

  3. Do you know someone who seems far from surrender to Jesus? What about Saul’s conversion story gives you hope for them? Why do we often think someone else’s salvation relies on us navigating the relationships just right?

  4. Ananias greeted Saul as “brother Saul”. He did not avoid him or treat him with cool disdain. Is there someone you’re relationally holding at arm's length? What does Ananias’ example of faith working through love teach us? What steps will you take this week in response?

  5. We have friends, neighbors and coworkers around us who need spiritual scales removed from their eyes so they can trust and follow Jesus. God has sent us to them no less than he sent Ananias to Saul. What in this passage makes you humble and hopeful as you go? What could you say on the Lord’s behalf to a particular person this week?
