On Sunday, January 18, 2026, Matthew Williams preached the message “The Age of the Spirit” from Acts 2:1-13. To listen to this message again, click here. See below for discussion questions on this passage and message.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. When we encounter the presence and activity of the Spirit, we encounter the presence and activity of God himself. What are some of the implications of believing the Holy Spirit is God? Have you thought of him that way?

  2. What is unique about the Spirit’s work on Pentecost? What's the difference between being baptized or indwelt by the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13) and being filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18)?

  3. If you’re a Christian, where in your life do you find comfort in knowing the Spirit is already present in all his divine fullness?

  4. Why are all the gifts of the Spirit necessary? How does recognizing Pentecost as the undoing of the curse of Babel (Genesis 11) point to the one thing the Spirit is about more than any other?

  5. Have you felt spiritually dead on the inside lately? Why might that be the case?
