  1. In Acts 1:15-20, Peter uses God’s Word to interpret the suffering of Jesus’ betrayal. Share a trouble from without or within where you need God’s Word to make sense of what has happened to you. What specific promises or passages of Scripture are serving you?

  2. Why is it better to say God upholds his Word through the actions of evil men, not despite them? How is that comforting?

  3. How would you love someone who says, “If God’s will is sovereign, why does it matter how I live?"

  4. What does appointing a 12th apostle to replace Judas tell us about the redeeming purposes of God?

  5. Where in your life do you need to believe Christ completes the work he begins? What implications does Jesus’ resurrection have for that situation?
