  1. Do you think of God as exceedingly good or more as a grumpy old man looking for someone to smack? Why?

  2. What does it mean to say God's blessing is conditional? What does it not mean?

  3. Which aspect of God's blessing in Deut. 28 most encourages you: the fact that He blesses in all places, in all times, or in every dimension of life? Which do you tend to forget?

  4. How do we make sense of God's faithfulness to bless and the present reality of suffering?

  5. How could remembering that goodness and mercy are following you because God is following you impact your expectations in hard relationships?
