  1. What sorts of trials in your life have given you a sense of your dependence on God for life and breath and everything?

  2. Where are you tempted to believe life comes from what you create or redeem by your own power instead of what God creates and redeems by the power of his Word? How can you tell when you’re trying to do God’s job for him?

  3. Of all God’s past, present, and future mercies, what do you most need to humbly remember this week?

  4. How does keeping God’s commands help you remember your dependence? Give an example! 

  5. Do you delight in being dependent on God? What do we ultimately gain?
