DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
Do you believe that God reveals himself primarily through his Word, the Bible, or do you often look for other ways to understand who God is or to get direction from him? Explain your answer.
Why did Moses turn Israel’s attention to God’s glory after he delivered the 10 commandments to them?
We see in Deut. 5:30 that Moses became a mediator between Israel and God. According to 1 Timothy 2:5, since Jesus’ coming, there is now “one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”. Why do we need a mediator between us and God, and how is Jesus a better mediator than Moses? (See Heb 3:1-6).
What does it mean to “fear God”? And what, according to Deut. 5:29, is the result of our fearing God?
How can we grow in obeying God and His commandments?
What can we do when God’s Word does not cause us to tremble with awe and fear of our Holy God?
