Sunday Review: 5/14/2023

On Sunday, May 14, 2023, Quinton Cools preached the message “Chosen and Set Apart” from Deuteronomy 7:1-11. To listen to this message again, click here. Please see below for discussion questions for this past Sunday’s message.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. Is your life marked by a growing confidence in the promises and provisions of God? Why or why not? What is one thing you are trusting God for? How can your community group pray for you in that area?

  2. If God is “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness”, why does he stand in judgment over sin and will he “by no means clear the guilty” (Exodus 34:6-7)? On what basis then can we stand guiltless before him?

  3. Why have God’s people always been commanded not to marry unbelievers? (See Deut. 7:3-4 and 2 Cor. 6:14.) What is at stake here?

  4. Do you take sin and its consequences seriously? How do you fight against sin and for personal holiness? (See Deut. 7:4b-5 and Col. 3:1-3.)

  5. In what areas of your life are you most aware of God’s faithfulness to you despite your own unfaithfulness?
