DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. How is the glorious nature and character of God displayed in the statement of verse 4, “The LORD our God, the LORD is one”?

  2. What are some ways we wrongly view the Trinity, considering that Deuteronomy 6:4 says that our God is one? What should we do when we learn something about God that expands our perspective?

  3. What is the connection between the one God (v. 4) and Moses’ call to faithfulness to Him (v. 5)? 

  4. How does our love of God (v. 5-6) connect to all of life (v. 7-9)? In what area of your heart, soul, or might do you desire to love the Lord your God more completely? 

  5. Caleb reminded us that God is most clearly seen and known in the person of Christ. In what ways is the Holy Spirit helping you see God in light of who Jesus is and what he has done for you?
