Sunday Review: 10/16/2022

On Sunday, October 16, 2022, Matthew Williams preached the message “The Sovereign Lord Who Provides” from Deuteronomy 2:1-23. To listen to this message again, click here. Please see below for discussion questions for this past Sunday’s message.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. Where do you see evidence of God’s “persistent grace” on you over the course of your life? Where do you see evidence of His “persistent grace” on you over the last week?

  2. Matthew used the vivid picture of thousands of graves in the desert as “the entire generation perished from the camp” under God’s judgment (v. 14). Why do Christians have a sure hope that we will not “perish” but will endure to the end and will inherit the kingdom “prepared for us from the foundation of the world” (Matt. 25:34)?

  3. For whom do you regularly pray for salvation in Christ Jesus?

  4. How do we sometimes try to “use God” to get what we want rather than aligning our wills and desires with His will, as revealed in His Word? What should our response be when we observe this pattern in our lives?

  5. Why is it important that we do not live as if this world is our home?

  6. What things in your life are you fearful of, akin to all that Israel feared on their way to the promised land? How do these fears prevent you from trusting God’s sovereign and good rule over your life?
