Sunday Review: 03/15/26
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, Josh Earl preached the message “The Joy Down at the Bottom Bottom” from John 3:22-36. To listen to this message again, click here. See below for discussion questions on this passage and message.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
What are the some of the spiritual symptoms of thinking God’s work in the world is ultimately about us? In contrast, what God-centered reason does John 3:35 give us for all the Father is doing?
What does it mean for the source of our self-giving to be the Son’s self-giving? Can you think of a situation where you can give of yourself for self-centered reasons instead of being compelled by the grace of the gospel?
We naturally want to order our days so we suffer as little as possible and are honored as much as possible. In his great love for us, the Spirit has a different plan. Where is walking the low road of humility most difficult for you right now?
Where have you experienced joy on the path of self-sacrifice? How does the gospel free us to take up our cross with a cheerful heart?
Where do you need Jesus to rescue you from living for yourself?
