DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
When God called Peter to ministry, he made a way. Where do you hear God calling you to do his good works? Where do you see him equipping you and making a way?
Acts 12:5 and 12:12 tell of the powerful prayer life of the early church. What motivates you to have an audience with the King in prayer? What do you typically talk about? Where do you see his responses to your prayers?
Acts 12 tells a very different tale for James and Peter. One ends in celebration of freedom while the other ends in mourning of loss, despite both being faithful disciples. What helps you trust the mysterious, providential care of God despite seemingly contradictory care of his people? How do you reconcile the different outcomes?
We cry out most in times of despair and God’s voice seems to shout in our times of need. Is there an area of difficulty in your life which leaves you crying out? How does Isaiah 40:29-31 encourage you in the wait? How does Luke 18 prompt you to persist? How does Mark 5:36 teach us to respond?
