Sunday Review: 2/22/26

On Sunday, February 22, 2026, Matthew Williams preached the message “Turn Back to Jesus” from Acts 3. To listen to this message again, click here. See below for discussion questions on this passage and message.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. What does the lame man’s request reveal about God’s heart for blessing his people? How does Isaiah 35:4-6 strengthen our confidence that God is ready and eager to do immeasurably more than restore our bodies?

  2. How would you describe the biblical doctrine of sin to a non-Christian friend? Why should we say with Horatius Bonar, “I crucified the Christ of God”?

  3. Describe a situation where your expectation of God’s work in you or through you is tied more to your own power or piety than faith in Jesus. What difference would it make if you believed today is a day of salvation, not because you feel glorious, but because God has glorified Jesus?

  4. Which of the three promises to all who repent most encourage you? In what area of your life is Jesus calling you to turn back to him? What would it look like to surrender instead of negotiating?

  5. How does Acts 3:26 give us hope when the repenting feels impossibly difficult?
