  1. How can you tell when you’re experiencing condemnation as opposed to conviction when you read the Word or listen to a sermon?

  2. How did Sheba deny King David’s goodness? Where in your life are you tempted to do the same?

  3. What individual and corporate practices should we expect God to use to direct our attention to his goodness?

  4. How is Joab’s rebellion different than Sheba’s? Read James 3:13-18, then consider where you tend to carve out a kingdom for yourself by exchanging God’s wisdom for your own.

  5. What does Solomon mean in Proverbs 4:7 when he says, “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom”? Who is the Lord presently using in your life to help you to listen?

  6. Where do you need to believe God is faithful to redeem rebellion (whether your own or someone else’s) for his glory and your good?
