DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. Consider the last significant transition you navigated. Were you more aware of God’s presence, power, and goodness or your changing circumstances? Why?

  2. What does the Lord mean when he promises, “I will never leave you or forsake you?” Pick a hard situation you are likely to encounter next week. What difference would it make to believe God is with you?

  3. Do you think of Scripture primarily as a rule book or as a means of learning to fear the Lord? What does it mean to fear the Lord? 

  4. Why does behavioral obedience absent the fear of God never work? What’s your plan for attending to the Word in 2024? 

  5. God knew Israel would turn away from him. Yet he didn’t stop keeping his promises – in judgment or salvation. Where do you need to remember God is faithful even when we are not?
