Sunday Review: 4/24/2022
On Sunday, April 24, 2022, Matthew Williams preached the message “What the Lord Requires” from Micah 6:1-16 as part of our current series A God of Justice + Mercy. To listen to this message again, click here. Please see below for discussion questions for this Sunday’s message.
Discussion Questions:
Matthew’s first point of the message was: “Remember the righteous acts of the Lord”. How are you tempted to forget the many “righteous acts of the Lord” in your life and why is it dangerous to forget them?
Micah 6:6 asks the question “With what shall I come before the LORD…?” How would you answer that question, thinking of the day that you and I will “stand before the judgment seat of God” (Rom 14:10)? What will be your confidence on that day?
Micah 6:8 is the well-known verse that states: “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” How do we obey this verse without treating it as a “call to works” unto righteousness?
What are some of the injustices in the world that grieve you? How can we pursue justice without getting overwhelmed by the impossible task of “correcting every wrong” we see?
What do you think it means to “love kindness”?
How can you and I “walk humbly with our God”?
