International Missions Weekend Recap

A big “thank-you” to all who participated in our International Missions Weekend earlier this month! Hands down, my highlight from the Saturday evening session was watching so many children in our congregation write encouraging notes and color pictures for the missionaries we support. May sending well remain one of our distinctive mission convictions as a church!

Leading up to the weekend, I encouraged you to seek the Lord for how you could contribute to our International Missions Fund. Since March 6, we have received $ 5,647 to support our partners in gospel ministry around the globe. Of the funds that were not allocated for a specific partner, 50% goes to our missionaries or church planters, 25% to ministry resources for them to use on the field, and 25% to the orphanage in Caranavi.

And just yesterday, a couple in our church said they sensed the Spirit prompting them this week to give a special gift to Jorge and Tere Del Castillo in Santa Cruz to help with some of their medical expenses. Thank you for your generosity, my friends! Join me in asking the Lord to help our missions committee and elders wisely invest his resources in each of these categories.

During IMW we also were able to watch a video update from Dave Taylor, the Director of Emerging Nations, on what God is doing around the globe in Sovereign Grace churches. If you are interested in receiving regular updates, click here to sign up for the Emerging Nations newsletter.

One of the ways we can support our missionary partners throughout the year is through actively praying for them. Many of our missionary partners have newsletters where they email out periodic updates on their lives, what God is doing, and current prayer requests.
