Covid Update for July 8, 2021

Hi KingsWay,

We’re continuing to evaluate our Covid-19 precautions in various areas of church life as summer progresses. Our goal remains loving our neighbors by enabling as many people as possible to safely participate in our corporate gatherings! Since mid-May, we have encouraged anyone who has not been vaccinated to strongly consider wearing a mask on Sunday morning, though we have required them only in King’sKids for 5-11 year olds.

Starting Sunday, July 11, we will modify our Covid-19 precautions in King’sKids to bring them in line with our present approach in the main auditorium. Masking will now be at the discretion of individual families and their children, though we will continue to maintain social distancing inside our classrooms. We are thankful for the continued decline in infection rates in our local community. We also recognize children remain able to carry and transmit the virus to others who could experience severe illness. Balancing a recognition of progress and consistent messaging across various ministry settings with some continued precautions seems like the wisest approach for the next few months.

As with anything related to Covid, there are no lack of strong opinions in a group as a large as our congregation. Thank you for continuing to graciously support our ministry leaders regardless of where you land on a particular decision. And if you haven’t already, parents, please thank the next King’sKids volunteer you see for their faithful labor in the Lord!
