For many, Christmas is a joyous season filled with fun family traditions, memories, and a very full calendar. Advent is an intentional time during the Christmas season to anticipate, reflect, and rejoice in the coming of King Jesus over two thousand years ago and of his coming again one day. Christmas, above all else, is a time to thank God for his grace in sending the Son to save us to himself, to lead us and care for us in our need, and for the goodness of his promise that he will one day come again to make all things new. Matthew, in the first two chapters of his Gospel, gives us just that: a reason to rejoice and anticipate Jesus.
