Sunday Review: 5/29/2022
On Sunday, May 29, 2022, Mickey Connolly preached from Colossians 1:1-8 to kick off our new sermon series “Christ Above All: A Study of the Book of Colossians”. Please see below for discussion questions for this past Sunday’s message.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
The church at Colossae was not conspicuous, prominent, or perfect. Yet the Holy Spirit prompted Paul to write an entire letter to them, encouraging them in the sufficiency and supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ. What does this communicate about God’s care for our church and for you individually?
What is the “word of truth, the gospel” that Paul speaks of in Col. 1:5? How do we know that we have, cherish, and proclaim the true gospel?
Mickey Connolly said, “The gospel has implications on how we live”. What implications, or effects, does the gospel have on how you live?
We see in Col. 1:2 that this letter was addressed to “the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae”. What does it mean to you to be “in Christ”, and how do we know if we are “in Christ”?
