Sanctity of Life Sunday

On January 23, churches across our nation observed Sanctity of Life Sunday. Chris led us in praying that we would be a people who honor the dignity God has given to every man and woman as his image bearers – regardless of the color of their skin, or whether they are living inside or outside of the womb.

I’m deeply grateful for the work the Pregnancy Resource Center of Metro Richmond is doing to help women facing difficult pregnancies make choices that honor the sanctity of human life. Our very own Julie Hagen is one of their supervisors. Several of you have volunteered with the PRC over the years or supported them financially.

Here’s why I think that’s a good thing. As Christians, we are often known in the public square for what we stand against, in this case, taking the life of an infant in the womb. That’s a biblical position. But the reason we stand against abortion is because we are for pregnant women in tough situations and for the little ones nurtured by their body. That’s where the PRC really does a fantastic job. Check out this video for more information.

If you’re able, I encourage you to consider financially supporting the work they’re doing. During the month of February, every dollar you give to KingsWay’s Mercy Fund will go entirely to the PRC. You can give to the fund on our website or write “Mercy Fund” on the memo section of your check and place it in the offering basket on Sunday.
