The following note is from Rebekah Giannini, our new Women’s Ministry Director. On Sunday, Rebekah shared about KingsWay’s revamped Women’s Ministry, introduced new planning team members, and invited all ladies to attend the upcoming Ladies Breakfast. In case you missed it, read her message below.

I love this church, I love that God has made us family. I love that when God calls us to Himself, he calls us into community. Women’s ministry is one aspect of that community, and a pretty fun one too!

Several months ago, some conversations started about what “women’s ministry” is and why local churches should have it. The outcome of those conversations was this: Women’s ministry exists to help one another enjoy a growing relationship with God by treasuring Christ, pursuing authentic community, and loving our neighbors. Do recognize this vernacular? It’s our church’s mission statement. Here at KingsWay, our Women’s Ministry has the same goal as the church at large, we are working together to accomplish the same thing. We have Women’s Ministry because we recognize that there is great value in gathering together as women to learn about God, encourage and challenge one another, and grow together to be more like Christ.

In our discussions about how best to build a women’s ministry to meet this goal we identified three key approaches: prayer, Bible study, and large group events where we can gather together for fellowship, teaching, and fun! These are large areas, so there are three women who have agreed to lead each of these branches of our women’s ministry. Pat McCauley is leading our prayer branch, Karin Kruger is leading our Bible study branch, and Vanessa Fernandez is leading our events branch.

We are excited about this new structure and direction for Women’s Ministry at KingsWay and can’t wait to share more about why we so value these areas, upcoming events and studies, and how you can get involved.

With that, I’d love to invite you to the Women’s Ministry Kick-Off Breakfast on Saturday, October 29th at 8:30am. All ladies 13 and up are welcome. This will be a time of good food, sweet fellowship, and vision casting for KingsWay women in the year ahead! Visit the table on Sunday in the foyer to sign up to bring a breakfast item or for more information. We are excited to see you there!
