Here’s an overview of how we remembered and responded to the gospel during our Sunday meeting last weekend. Discussion questions for Community Group this week are also below.

Matthew called us to worship with the words of Psalm 34:1-10

We sang 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)All I Have is Christ, and Give Me Jesus

We watched a video about gospel ministry in Bolivia

Chris and Maria Deloglos (Maria is a native of Bolivia) led us in praying for the nation

We gave an offering to support the work of the gospel in our church

Bob Shanks read 1 Peter 4:12-19

Matthew gave a pastoral prayer before preaching a sermon entitled, “Joy in Suffering”

We sang Psalm 62

Chris Deloglos gave a benediction

Discussion Questions for Community Group

  1. Do you tend to be surprised by suffering in your life? Why or why not?
  2. Share an example of God accomplishing something good in your life through suffering
  3. How does being a Christian make the path of suffering a path of joy?
  4. Where do you need to trust God and obey God in the midst of present suffering?
Matthew Williams grew up attending KingsWay and joined the pastoral staff in 2009. God has blessed him and his wife, Aliza, with three rambunctious boys, Ethan, Micah, and Tyler. Matthew did his undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in chemistry and political science, spent a year at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College, and is nearly finished with his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
