On Sunday, May 13, 2018, guest pastor Joselo Mercado preached the message “God is Our Refuge” from Psalm 46 as a short break from our current series, re:creation. Below are a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week. To listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page.

Discussion Questions:

1. How is God calling you to radically trust in Him? What are your life’s problems? How can we look above our problems to the Lord?

2. What is the difference between lamenting and complaining? Are you ever tempted to complain? What truths from this Psalm do you need to hunker down on in your heart?

3. Are you tempted to craft “worse-case-scenarios” in your mind when facing trouble? Is this glorifying to God? Why not?

4. How have you seen the nearness of God in difficult times in your life or in the lives of others you are close to? Is that nearness present even when you can emotionally “feel” it?
