Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday, followed by projection from the message, and a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week.

Matthew led us in a Call to Worship and we sang Indescribable.

Katie Siefring led us in a prayer of confession from Psalm 51. Robin Siefring and Will Hagan shared words from the Lord at the prophecy mic.

We sang He Is JesusOur Song from Age to Age, and He Will Hold Me Fast.

Matthew welcomed visitors and announced that sign up for Mother’s Day Child Dedications is available online.

He then introduced Matt Gray – a current student at Sovereign Grace’s Pastor’s College. We took a temporary break from our United: The Letter to the Ephesians study to hear him preach a message from Colossians 1:15-20. To listen again, visit our Audio Resources page.

After the message, we recited the Nicene Creed together and sang Man of Sorrows.

Matthew closed our time together with a benediction.

Discussion Questions:

1. Matt taught that the supremacy of Christ guarantees the Christian’s relationship with God. What does this mean? How would you explain this concept to a friend who isn’t a Christian?

2. What is the significance of all things being created in Christ? Why is it so essential to understand that Jesus is so much more than simply the instrument that produced creation?

3. With this mindset, what would happen to creation if Jesus ceased to be God? Why did He entwine all things within his sustaining power? How does this prove His glory?

4. Matt taught that the fullness that we all seek can only be found in Christ. What are other areas of your life that you turn to but have been ineffective in providing that sort of fulfillment? How is God helping you to remember to turn to Him for all that your being longs for?
