On Sunday, March 4th, Matthew Williams preached the message “Different By Design” from Genesis 2:18-25 as part of our current series, re:creation. Below are a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week. To listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page. For a PDF of the projection from the message, click here.

Discussion Questions:

1. Why did God establish two distinct gender identities? How do these relate to the gender roles that He established? How do these reflect His glory?

2. What does God’s commissioned leadership look like for men in various categories of life? As a single man? As a boyfriend? As a husband? Try to describe tangible examples for each.

3. What is the significance of the calling for women to be a “helper”? Is it a position of inferiority or one of strength? How have you seen Western culture and non-biblical worldviews warp this role?

4. How is God calling you to respond to this message? What areas, if any, of your perspective on gender identity and/or biblical gender roles are currently distorted?
