On Sunday, June 23, 2019, guest pastor Josh Kruger preached the message, “The Sufficiency of the Gospel”. Click here to access a PDF of projection from the message. See below for a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week. To listen to other messages from this series, visit our Audio Resources page.

Discussion Questions:

  1. How does an effort to do good works in order to receive the grace of Christ ultimately distorting to His gospel?
  2. Are there any specific areas in which you are tempted to “serve” for the purpose of earning God’s goodness? What are the tangible differences between serving others in order to earn grace verses serving out of the overflow of our hearts?
  3. Josh taught that “the gospel that relies 99% on Christ, but requires a mere 1% of our effort is imperfect and null.” What does this mean? Why must our salvation rely on Jesus alone as opposed to any of our efforts?
  4. Josh also taught that we guard the truth by knowing the truth. What does it look like to deeply know the truth of Christ? What should our reaction be when we encounter something about the gospel that is even slightly untrue? Is this something that you have experienced?
