Here’s a quick review of our meeting last Sunday, including a couple discussion questions for Community Group this week.

I called us to worship by reading 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

We sang Holy, Holy, Holy

I read 1 Chronicles 29:14-15 before Duane gave a prayer of confession

We sang Before the Throne of God AboveJesus, Firm Foundation, and When the Stars Burn Down

We gave a financial offering to support the ministry of the gospel in our church

Gene gave a pastoral prayer, asking for God’s blessing on Commonwealth Chapel and Richmond City officials

Mickey Connolly, our Regional Leader, preached a sermon from 1 Peter 5:1-4 entitled “Of Shepherds and Sheep”

We prayed for Josh Kruger, who serves on our eldership as a pastor-in-training

Josh gave a benediction from Colossians 1:9-12

Community Group Discussion Questions

  1. Why do you think pastors are necessary?
  2. Share your experience of pastoral ministry before and after coming to Kingsway
  3. Have you ever thought about becoming a pastor?
Matthew Williams grew up attending KingsWay and joined the pastoral staff in 2009. God has blessed him and his wife, Aliza, with three rambunctious boys, Ethan, Micah, and Tyler. Matthew did his undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in chemistry and political science, spent a year at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College, and is nearly finished with his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
