Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday, followed by projection from the message, and a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week.

Matthew opened our time together with announcements and a Call to Worship from Psalm 92:1-4.

Meredith Lewanowicz led us in a Prayer of Praise.

We sang Greater Than We Can ImagineIndescribable, and Kevin Khoffie read Leviticus 26:40-45.

We sang The Father’s Love and Take My Life.

Josh prayed a Prayer of Intercession and Peter Burdette read 1 John 5:6-12.

Matthew preached the next message in our current series, Assured of Salvation to listen to the message again, check back on our Audio Resources page later this week.

After the message we sang Rescue and had a time of prayer and response up front to close out our time together.

Projection from the message:

I. The testimony of God about Christ deserves trust.
II. The life God offers us in Christ requires trust.

“It is as the Spirit speaks through the Word that he makes it convincing to the heart of the individual.” – I. Howard Marshall

“Since he is infinitely superior to humans, his testimony should be regarded as infinitely weightier and tenaciously embraced.” – Robert Yarbrough

Discussion Questions:

1. Matthew taught that it is the Holy Spirit who inspires faith. What does this mean?

2. What does the word of God do for those who are suffering? Regardless of what you are going through, how can you better immerse yourself in scripture this week? What practical steps do you need to take?

3. Where is lasting joy and satisfaction found? Is this something that you have experienced? Where are you tempted to look elsewhere for such things?
