On Sunday, July 28, 2019, Guest Pastor Steve Teter preached the message, “Troubles, Trials, and the World of Life” as part of our current series, Living with the End in View. See below for a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week. To listen to other messages from this series, visit our Audio Resources page.
1. Steve said, “When the Word of God comes into a fallen and broken world it is disruptive.” Is there a relationship in your life that you need to step out in faith and share the disruptive news of the gospel? Is there something that is holding you back?
2. What is a challenge you are facing currently? How can you bring the gospel into this situation? Does knowing that nothing can hinder God’s work comfort you? Are there scriptures that remind you of truth?
3. Read Psalm 19:7-11 and Hebrews 4:12. If the Bible is living and active and the Word of Life, are you quick to run to it when you face challenges and struggles? Are you quick to bring scripture to struggling friends? In our Community Group, is there a way we can help one another to run to the Word first?
4. Steve suggested for those in a spiritually dry period to read Psalm 119. Are you in a dry period in your faith? Are there specific passages in this chapter that have encouraged you this week?
