Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday, followed by a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week.

Matthew welcomed all with a call to worship from Psalm 104.

We sang Come People of the Risen King and Great is Thy Faithfulness.

Darla Rogness led us in a prayer of confession and Serena Walker read 1 Peter 2:22-25.

We sang See the Destined Day Arise and He is Jesus.

Josh led us in a prayer of intercession and Doug Roberts read 1 John 2:12-17 – the scripture for the message. Chris preached the message “The Effect of Saving Knowledge of Christ” as the next in our current series, Assured of SalvationTo listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page.

After the message we sang Be Thou My Vision and Chris closed our time together with a benediction.

1. What cultivates assurance that we have fellowship with God? How do you identify such work of Christ in your life?

2. Chris taught that if our sins have been forgiven (as they have been in Christ) they remain forgiven. Is this something that you are learning to grasp or is it difficult to believe? Do you ever struggle with guilt? What does scripture say about our sin in light of the work of Jesus on the cross?

3. Do you find your heart in contest with another love greater than God? Is there something that is compelling you away from His commands? How can you fight such temptations on a daily basis?

Serena joined the office staff team in December of 2015.
