On Sunday evening, January 27, 2019, we gathered together for our first prayer meeting of the year! The theme for the evening was personal evangelism and for those whom KingsWay families want to talk to about Jesus. Prayer points and scripture readings from the meeting are below for your continued use.

2019 Quarterly Prayer Meeting
Personal Evangelism

“Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” – Mark 5:19

“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36

Pray for Our Own Hearts

  • Make Jesus our greatest treasure
  • Give us a hunger for your renown
  • Fix our thoughts on eternal realities
  • Forgive our lack of compassion
  • Forgive our fear of man
  • Help us take a genuine interest in people
  • Give us an abiding confidence in the power of the gospel

“In Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.” – 2 Corinthians 5:19-20

Pray for Our Church Community

  • Help us encourage one another in pursuing friendships with unbelievers
  • Make sharing Jesus a community project where our friends in the world connect with our friends at church
  • Make us bold in crossing the spiritual conversation barrier
  • Give us opportunities to share Jesus with people who don’t look like us
  • Use the preaching of your word to awaken dead hearts
  • Provide personal evangelism testimonies that stir our hearts to not give up
  • Add new converts to our spiritual family & give us wisdom to patiently disciple them

“The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul.” – Acts 16:14

Pray for Specific People

  • Your own family, friends, and co-workers
  • Individuals on the Prayer Cards
  • Cause them to ask spiritual questions
  • Help them be honest about their doubts
  • Give them a desire to study your Word
  • Remove relational, intellectual, and cultural obstacles to following Jesus
  • Make them discontent with the pleasures and possession of this world

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’ And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” – Revelation 7:9-12
