On Sunday, July 9, Meredith Lewanowicz opened our meeting with a Prayer of Praise. The text of her prayer is below. We hope that it continues to inspire and encourage your hearts this week.

Father God, to the glory of your name, we join in proclaiming the eternal truth that you are All in All. We praise you, for you are a God who is steadfast, immovable, and unchanging in your goodness, faithfulness, generosity, and justice. The sum of your perfect character is your glory, and the light by which we see everything else rightly.

By Your faithfulness you chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before you. By Your faithfulness you predestined us for adoption to Yourself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of Your will. By Your faithfulness You brought us to Yourself, bringing dead men to life by the power of Your Holy Spirit. By Your faithfulness You have led us safe thus far, and as the Author and Perfecter of our faith, You will bring us safely home, bringing Your good and perfect work to completion. How great and unsearchable is Your faithfulness!

We praise you for Your generous Kingship and Fatherly affection for Your people, the sheep of Your pasture. By sending Your infinitely glorious Son, our King Jesus Christ, to take our shamefulness and guilt upon Himself, being cut off from Your eternally-unbroken fellowship, You proved once for all the depth of Your unfathomable and generous love. Yet, even having given us Your own Son, You still see and care for every small detail of our lives, even numbering the hairs on our head. You are a gracious God who delights in meeting our needs, going above and beyond to bless us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, and rejoicing over us with loud singing. As You graciously give us all good things to enjoy and praise You for, we join Your Word in proclaiming that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. You are wholly good, and all good is in You and You alone. We praise You.

We praise You for Your justice, which is satisfied in Christ for those You’ve brought to Yourself by grace through faith. Your judgments are holy, righteous, and good, and Your commandments are healing to the soul, reflecting the heart of a perfect Creator. You are the Rock, whose work is perfect, for all Your ways are just. As a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, You are just and upright. We praise You that Your way is perfect and Your Word proves true. There is none like You, the God who sanctifies His people in the truth of His Word. We rejoice in Your justice in the face of humanity’s injustice, and we rejoice in Your mercy in saving a sinful people by providing the Perfect Lamb of God to take our place and satisfy Your righteousness.

In light of Your glory—Your faithfulness, generosity, and justice—we join with the angels around the throne proclaiming “‘Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.’” (Rev. 7:12).
