In last Sunday’s message, we saw in Mark 9:29 that prayer is necessary for spiritual work.  In fact, no lasting work ever occurs without prayer.  The Apostle Paul believed that, and frequently communicated that to his followers: “Pray for us!”

So when Josh Blount, one of the pastors in our sister church in Franklin, WV,  asked how their church can pray for KingsWay this Sunday, I was so grateful.  I responded with the following requests, which I regularly pray for us.  I’m sharing them with you so that we can agree together in prayer.  Please join me in asking God to bless His work among us as a people.

1.  That we will grow in vision for & practice of discipleship, so that every person is discipling & being discipled.

2.  That we will grow in a conviction for and fruitfulness in reaching our world with the Gospel.

3.  That God will provide abundant finances, both individually & as a church, for all He has called us to do.

4.  That God will establish us in unity…declaring & demonstrating the Gospel with one heart and mind.

Matthew Williams grew up attending KingsWay and joined the pastoral staff in 2009. God has blessed him and his wife, Aliza, with three rambunctious boys, Ethan, Micah, and Tyler. Matthew did his undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in chemistry and political science, spent a year at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College, and is nearly finished with his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
