Brad and Tammy Bishop, two of our church members, arrived safely in La Paz, Bolivia last Friday. God has given them a growing desire to support the ministry of Suti Sana in the red light district of El Alto. Suti Sana provides an economic alternative for women desiring to leave the brothels in the form of training and employment as seamstresses. Click here to watch a video overview of their ministry.

That’s where Tammy’s fashion design skills come into play. She developed a handbag design for Suti Sana last year and returned this year to troubleshoot production challenges, brainstorm future projects, and spend time sharing the gospel as she works alongside women in the ministry. Her husband, Brad, was eager to join her to provide spiritual support and encouragement.

I’m grateful for how many folks in our church gave financially to help offset the cost of their trip to Bolivia. Thank you for partnering with them in adorning and proclaiming the gospel. Please pray for them over the next few weeks.

  • Pray for great skill to share the gospel and encourage the women in Spanish
  • Pray for wisdom to provide sound business consulting for Suti Sana

If you wish to provide additional financial support for their trip, simply write “Bolivia” in the memo section of your check and either mail it to our office or put it in the offering next Sunday.

Matthew Williams grew up attending KingsWay and joined the pastoral staff in 2009. God has blessed him and his wife, Aliza, with three rambunctious boys, Ethan, Micah, and Tyler. Matthew did his undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in chemistry and political science, spent a year at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College, and is nearly finished with his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
