How we steward God’s resources reveals the character of our love for Him and our commitment to His mission. That’s true on both an individual and a corporate level, which is one reason Jesus talks so much about money. If He was faithful to discuss the subject, we should be too. To that end, we have both a present and future giving opportunity to pass along.

As I shared last Sunday, every dollar given to our Mercy Fund from Jan 20 – Jan 31 will go to support the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) of Metro Richmond. I am deeply grateful for the gospel ministry this local organization is doing. We have a unique personal connection with them through our very own Julie Hagen and other KingsWay families who regularly give their time and support to the PRC. It was good and right to pray last weekend for God to have mercy on the unborn who bear his image. It is also good and right to invest our financial resources into helping women choose to protect the life God has placed within them. Please consider making a specific contribution to our Mercy Fund for the PRC this week.

With just a few more days in January, utilize our secure online and text-based giving platforms. Click here to give online or send any dollar amount to 804.318.4438.

On February 23-24, we will host our 3rd annual International Missions Weekend. The Saturday evening session will once again feature live interviews with all three of our missionary partners. We also hope to distribute detailed information for our 2019 short-term mission trips. The Sunday morning session will include an interview with Mark and Becca Waite, after which Mark will preach from Daniel 7 on Jesus’ worldwide mission. Mark is a current student at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College. They went to the Pastor’s College after doing ministry work in China and are heading to Turkey following graduation to plant a church among an unreached people group. I’m excited for you to meet them and hear their story.

During the Sunday morning session, we will receive a special offering for our International Missions Fund (IMF). Last year, the Lord enabled us to contribute $23,000 to the IMF, allocating 50% for full time missionary support, 30% for short term mission trips, and 20% for the Casa de Esperanza orphanage in Bolivia. We will probably adjust those percentages a bit for 2019 to include a new provision for training international pastors. Expect to hear more information during the Saturday evening session. For now, please ask the Lord to show you how He wants you and your family to participate in this offering.

The Lord’s kingdom advances as the church is faithful to pray, give, and go with the gospel. I’m eager for that to continue through KingsWay. Let us know if you have any questions about any of the above.

Matthew grew up attending KingsWay and joined the pastoral staff in 2009. God has blessed him and his wife, Aliza, with three rambunctious boys. Matthew did his undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in chemistry and political science, spent a year at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College, and received his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
