“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts. Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.” – Malachi 3:10-12

As Matthew announced yesterday during the Sunday meeting, we are excited to share that we have just launched a new online giving platform for church members to utilize for their tithes and special gifts throughout the year. This system, run through a third party called “bluefire” is in no way an attempt to convert individuals who already give faithfully each month during the meeting to a new “modern” approach. Rather, it is intended to be a secure tool to help people give in a way that may be more convenient and practical for busy lifestyles. We hope that this new opportunity to give will be one that is helpful and a blessing to you.

In light of this, we wanted to share a few easy steps for how to set up online giving on your phone or computer and invite any questions or comments that you may have. One exciting feature of this new system is that givers will have the opportunity to give through an online platform OR via text message. Refer to the instructions below if you would like more details about how to make this possible.

1. Website – To give on our web platform click here and fill out the small form with your gift amount. This form appears also on our homepage and financial page for easy reference. You can give via debit/credit card or e-check. If you would like to set up an automatic recurring gift at any frequency, you are invited to create an account and specify your preferences. After the transaction is complete, you will be emailed a receipt of your gift to print for your records. Gifts can be made to either our general fund or any of our designated funds: International Missions Fund, Mercy Fund, or Building Fund.

2. Text – To give via text messaging, text any dollar amount (for example, “10” or “$10” – either format is fine) to 804.318.GIFT (804.318.4438). Users will need to complete a simple one-time setup process and then will be good to go. A confirmation text will arrive after a payment is successfully processed. All gifts given via text message will be automatically deposited into our General Fund.

Bluefire’s service is free to KingsWay, however, there is a 3% processing fee with every debit/credit transaction. On either platform above, you will have the option to cover that additional amount, should they feel so led.

If you have any questions about this new service, please don’t hesitate to contact us. For any technical assistance needed with bluefire or either of the platforms above, contact Serena Walker at serena@kingsway.cc. For questions about general finance or accounting, please contact Allison Sturgeon at allison@kingsway.cc.

She received her undergrad degree in Communications and Journalism and is pursuing graduate work in Counseling and Discipleship. Serena works full-time in the non-profit sector and serves on the board of the Bolivia Missions Foundation.
