We are serious about local church membership because God is serious about local church membership.

Think of it this way. Jesus didn’t save us so we could attend a 90 minute Christian meeting once a week. Jesus saved us so we could live out God’s covenant relationship with us through covenant relationship with one another. If you’re a Christian, the commitment God has made to you through the gospel must be reflected in the commitment you make to fellow Christians in a particular, local church.

That’s why I’m excited to lead the current members of KW in welcoming new members to KW. All of these men and women have gone through our Starting Point class as well as a pastoral interview in preparation for this Sunday.

Join me in thanking God for adding these folks to our church family!

Matthew Williams grew up attending KingsWay and joined the pastoral staff in 2009. God has blessed him and his wife, Aliza, with three rambunctious boys, Ethan, Micah, and Tyler. Matthew did his undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in chemistry and political science, spent a year at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College, and is nearly finished with his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
