Last week, I posted an urgent financial request from Josh and Lieze Kruger, one of the missionary couples we support. They had ten days to raise $2,500 to pay Namibian import taxes on their vehicles. For those who don’t know, the Krugers recently transitioned from South Africa, where Josh was coordinating short term mission trips for Operation Mobilization (OM), to Namibia, where Josh & Lieze will lead the OM field office and provide oversight for every OM missionary in the country. It’s a significant increase in responsibility for Josh and came with some serious moving costs.

All that to say, I was amazed when Craig Smith, our staff deacon, stopped by my office earlier this week and said that in less than 4 days, we received close to $4,000 in Mission Fund support for the Krugers. Praise be to God! I immediately wrote Josh to share the good news. Needless to say, he was overwhelmed by our kindness.

Many thanks to all of you who gave sacrificially on a moment’s notice. It was incredibly humbling to watch on my end. And as I shared in a note to all our members on Tuesday, please don’t stop giving to our Mission Fund. We want to see the fund grow to the point where we can quickly cut a check to meet a frontier missions need for any of our missionaries, not to mention providing regular support for Casa de Esperanza and other short-term missions teams.

On a related note, I’m excited to hear a short presentation from the Bolivia Mission Foundation (BMF) this Sunday. A group of KingsWay members started the foundation a couple years ago to provide financial support and short-term missions teams to advance gospel ministry in Bolivia. As you listen to their presentation, remember that Mission Fund gifts are what enable us to support the work they are doing.

The gospel is bearing fruit and growing all over the world. We want to be “all in” as a church, starting with our wallets. May the provision God made this week only continue.

“He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.” – 2 Corinthians 9:10-11

Matthew Williams grew up attending KingsWay and joined the pastoral staff in 2009. God has blessed him and his wife, Aliza, with three rambunctious boys, Ethan, Micah, and Tyler. Matthew did his undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in chemistry and political science, spent a year at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College, and is nearly finished with his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
