For centuries, Christians around the world have set aside the week leading up to Easter Sunday to remember and rejoice in the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior. Here’s our plan for celebrating Holy Week as a church family.

  • On Palm Sunday (April 12), Matthew will preach from Luke 28:19-20 on the authority of Jesus
  • On Good Friday (April 18), we’ll meet from 7-8pm in the auditorium for our first Good Friday service
  • On Easter Sunday (April 20), Gene will preach from Luke 24:1-12 on the resurrection of Jesus. Our service that morning will also include a number of baptisms, as well as special music from the adult and children’s choirs.

Be looking for opportunities to invite neighbors and family members who are open to attending church this time of year to join us for one or more of these gatherings. KingsKids will be open for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday but not Good Friday.

Matthew grew up attending KingsWay and joined the pastoral staff in 2009. God has blessed him and his wife, Aliza, with three rambunctious boys. Matthew did his undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in chemistry and political science, spent a year at the Sovereign Grace Pastor’s College, and received his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
