On Sunday, April 23, Darla Rogness brought a Prayer of Confession to our church during worship at our Sunday meeting. The text of her prayer is written blow. We hope that her words will continue to encourage and convict your hearts.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you this morning confessing that we are sinners saved by your grace. Without your atoning work on the Cross, we would remain in our lost and sinful condition. We say we trust you, but our actions often deny this truth. We worry when we should have prayed, we talk to others about our problems instead of bringing them to you. We confess that we have a lack of faith in you and your Word because we don’t have a big picture of your greatness. We say we love others, but we love ourselves more. We know that belief in you leads to eternal life, but we go about our busy days without telling others of this truth, not realizing that we have the only hope that may rescue them. We claim that we put you first in our lives, but we make sure that our needs our met first, and then we may look to the needs of others. We confess, Father, that we truly fall short of your call to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, and love our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive us, Father, for failing to put you first in our lives, and being obedient to your Word to love others. Forgive us for taking your great love for granted, and help us to be more like you. We humbly ask this of you, O gracious Father.

Amen.
